Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. She is the fourth Roberts generation living in Atlanta from her great-grandfather who was a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in the theatre at a young time. He acted on the Emory University campus in 1952 as well as in various productions in Atlanta. When he was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he received his induction into the Air Force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. The couple got married in 2005 and had their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter went to Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in 1957. Walter began working for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a Sunday morning show for children, Bum Bum and His Buddies. They established an Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it ran for about six years. They were blessed with two additional children Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, as well as Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
